PINK - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Dawn/Faith)
It didn’t take much for Dawn to blush. An occasional whispered suggestion in her ear and the pink would cascade over her face, seeming to start at the ear where Faith made the suggestion. Faith delighted in it and Dawn didn’t think some of those things were even possible. It was worse when there were people around. At least twice, Buffy had asked Dawn if she was feeling well, which, of course, Faith would follow up with “you should get to bed.” Dawn always grumbled a bit and went into her room. A short time later, Faith would join her, putting her words into action and making the pink rise to the surface in a completely different way.
SHARP - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Buffy/Willow)
One day, Buffy overheard some of the boys talking about her. “Even with all that time Summers spends in the library, she’s still not the sharpest tool in the shed.”
“She’s probably banging the librarian.”
Buffy made a face. Sex with Giles? Gross. He was so not her type.
“I wouldn’t mind banging her.”
She thought about banging him, right into the nearest locker, face-first. It probably wouldn’t improve his looks any. She laughed to herself. Good one, Buffy.
The boys walked off without seeing her.
Still, the implication that she wasn’t smart rankled her slightly. She did okay in school. She wasn’t going to get straight As like Willow.
She could ask Willow to help her study. She thought Willow would like that. People always liked to be needed. And Buffy could help Willow with… What could Buffy help Willow with? Self-confidence, maybe? She could start by giving Willow a compliment. That would be something that could help her be more self-confident. She’d tell Willow she was smart. Nah, she had everyone in the school telling her she was smart. And if Buffy came to her for help, she’d already know that Buffy thought she was smart, so there was no point in telling her that anyway. She could tell Willow that she was pretty. Every girl liked being told that and in Willow’s case it was true, but she was so shy that no one probably had been allowed close enough to look. Willow was pretty- she had that magnificent red hair that Buffy just wanted to run her fingers through, and when she smiled, her whole face lit up. It was like the sun coming out on a cloudy day. And Buffy had stolen a peek or two at her in the locker room before gym class, so she knew Willow had a body hidden under those bulky clothes.
Wait a minute. Had it really taken her this long to figure out she was into Willow?
Good grief, those boys were right. She really wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.
SILENT - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Willow/Tara)
It had begun in silence. The two of them, unable to talk, joined hands. Tara could feel the magic and something more flowing between them. It was something so powerful that no words were necessary. She’d always been a quiet girl and people all her life had wanted her to talk more. With Willow, she could just be herself. There could be a few halting words from time to time- she still had a bit of a stutter that embarrassed her- but overall, she was content with just sitting beside Willow, holding hands, reading a book, just drinking in one another’s presence.
LAVENDER - Firefly (Saffron/Inara)
“You’re using herbal concoctions now?” Inara asked.
“I use whatever will help my cause. As it happens, we were near a planet that had an abundance of lavender extract so I confiscated some for my own purposes.”
“I’m just glad you gave up the goodnight kiss.”
“Oh no, I still have that. I just find this to be more subtle. And if I get caught with a little lavender, there’s no penalty.”
“Only because they don’t know how dangerous you can be.”
“But you know. And still you can’t stay away from me.”
“What can I say, Saffron? I’m a sucker for a redhead.”
“Are you sure that’s not the lavender talking?”
“Hmm.”
“Inara.”
“I love these little get-togethers of ours, don’t you?”
“I don’t know. You seem like you have a trick up your sleeve.”
“Perhaps I do. Maybe you should stick around and find out.”
Saffron kissed her hard and ducked out the door. “Why ruin the good thing we have?”
