I thought it was a very real look into the relationship an Italian mother would have for her child(I'm speaking of more traditional families,but it is still true of modern ones to a certain extent.)I'm Italian,so I related to alot of this.I could see the homes of my relatives and friends parents in your story.The description of the bathroom is like the ones in two of my Aunts' homes. And,the discussion at the kitchen table over coffee-that's exactly what Dino's mom would do!Some of my favorite memories of my family center around the kitchen table talks,and coffee! I'd forgotten that remark about Maria wanting revenge;yes,that's exactly what my mom would have said ! It's interesting that you were thinking of "Touch Me" for the next chapter(maybe I am in your head :)),maybe they could be hearing the song playing in Dino's house,or next door.It doesn't matter that the song wasn't released then because time and place are always relative in Oz. Or,Duncan could have lived next door-you never know-he worked on the play for so long,maybe he was sitting outside on the porch with Steven,working on the lyrics(smiles)!
