Random things
Apr. 1st, 2019 08:07 pmBeen a while since I've posted, so here's a catch-up post.
Work - the thoughts of up and quitting are becoming more frequent. If it wasn't for the benefits and the fact that I'm finally making the salary that I made in LA (10 years ago!), I would go. If it starts affecting my mental & physical health too much, I will leave. I'm the lone woman in a group of men who are behaving like boys, top that off with unrealistic goals for a 5-person staff, and everyone throwing blame around like it's a hot potato, and you've got my slice of paradise.
Writing - I actually did a little bit over the weekend, but haven't done nearly as much as I want. My Groundhog Day OZ fic is starting to become like Groundhog Day- I start, get disgusted, set it aside, lather, rinse, repeat.
Hockey - well, the Blues are in the playoffs and I am happy with that (another reason that I'm saying hi now because once the playoffs start, I'm going to be invested and not online as much)
Family - mom is doing well, she'll be 2/3 of the way through her chemo this week, my dad is doing a lot to pick up the slack for which I'm grateful, my niece is starting to look at colleges - she turns 17 tomorrow
Other - the church I go to has sold our building so we are moving into a temporary space right after Easter. We think we might have found something, but there's still a lot of due diligence to happen.
Reading - I'm in a bit of a lull at the moment, but hope to pick something up again soon.
TV - I don't have HBO, but I'm looking forward to the final season of Game of Thrones. I think the most George RR Martin thing they could do would be to kill off Jon Snow in the first episode of the season. It probably won't happen, but it would cause complete chaos if it did.
That's it for now. Hope you all are well.
