More randomness
Jul. 11th, 2007 10:15 pmHockey schedules did come out today. Hoo-rah! and the Hawks aren't in LA over Thanksgiving (They're here New Year's Day instead and so am I!) Saw a few games that I wouldn't mind going to this year. And the Blues will be home over Thanksgiving and Christmas, so there's a chance that I might be able to catch a game when I'm in St. Louis. Very nice. I always like this time of year. Everything is still hopeful.
I watched "Pan's Labrynth" this evening. Technically it is incredibly beautiful, but the story is pretty much a downer. Maybe given time, it'll have hooked me. I have "Little Children" on the way (BTW, I'm glad that's in writing where you can see the quotes, because it would be just weird to say that sentence out loud to somebody if they didn't know the context). It's the other of my brother's recommendations. I just hope I can stomach La Winslet for two hours. Yes, I know it's supposed to be good. I also have this indie called "Sweet Land" coming that received very good reviews, but I missed the week that it was in the theaters out here. I'm actually looking forward to seeing that one.
Something that I've been meaning to mention is that I'm a little irritated by the marketing for this new Catherine Zeta-Jones/Aaron Eckhart movie called "No Reservations". I haven't seen one mention anywhere that the movie is a remake of the German film "Mostly Martha". On imdb.com, the original screenwriter is given a screenplay credit, but it's on none of the promotional materials that I have seen. The original is a very charming movie, worth seeing, so I don't know why they'd want to toss that aside and not mention it. As a writer, it ticks me off just a little tiny bit, not to see any credit given to the source material. End of rant.
