Got home from church not too long ago (maybe 10 minutes or so).  Youth worship tonight.  It went well.  Everybody there (and there weren't many of us) sang "Happy Birthday" to me at the end.  It was all good.  Shirley did the preaching - I've known her for a long time and she always does a wonderful job.

I've just been spending too much time at church.  I was there Wednesday for choir and then again tonight, back tomorrow for a car wash that the youth group is having.  As a youth leader, I am required to be at the events.  I consider myself the eldest elder and I'm just going to do the things I need to do while I'm with this group because I'll be "aged out" fairly soon.  Come home from that and then Sunday it's regular service with all the bells and whistles.  I hope that when our choir director gets here and the princess (our other soprano - we dated, I can call her what I like) gets well enough to come back (which will probably be the week the new choir director gets here), I will take a break.  Of course that means that I may not be singing with the group at Christmas time.  We''ll have to see how it goes.  It's one of those "be careful what you wish for scenarios" because I've always wanted to be out of the princess' shadow and get some really personal notes on my performance and for better or worse, I seem to be getting them in spades.  (Where'd that expression come from?)  It looks like somebody hijacked the myspace space for the teen ministry because I got an invite today asking me to join, but it was really very raw.  I don't know if that's what teens consider hip or not.  It just seemed very odd to me.

Only one comment on the Leo/Groves thing.  It starts slow like that.  My co-worker/Oz prag suggested I do something on Schillinger.  Vern did get a mention.  I watched an episode of "Boston Legal" last night and I kept looking at one of the defendants, thinking "I know him" - Andy Schillinger.  I thnk the gal who played Beecher's wife was also on an episode.  I'm always on the lookout for Oz folks in these things.  I may have to go see "Invincible" - Kirk Acevedo is in it and I've got kind of a soft spot for Alvarez these days (I still have two scenes for him that I could have written) maybe they'll come up in a better place with the topics.  And I have my longer piece that may not get turned in until after Season 6 comes out.

Suspense abounds - will the princess return before or after Keller takes a dive off the balcony?  She says maybe this week, but that's been said about a half dozen times since the beginning of May.  Not holding my breath.

So why do I wish it was Thursday?  If you saw my desk at work, you'd know the answer to that question.  I spent all day today prepping things to be mailed out and what happened mid-day, I got delivered another load to prep (yes, people, I know it's bad grammar, I don't really care).  So I have a basket overflowing with mail stuff, half a basket of typing, and accounting stuff to do since the boss' wife decided to take a vacation.

Yes, I'm venting.  Just be grateful that all of my weirdness from this morning has dissipated.  My morning pages took the brunt of that beating.

Off to bed.
