OZ prompts

Things seem to have gotten rather stagnant in our little OZ community. I think people will be all-in for Magi again this year, but everything else seems to have stalled. I have a tiny idea that's been flitting around the corners of my mind for ages- writing prompts based on a particular season, be they a character, a moment, or a quote.

If anyone wants to join in, just leave me a comment with a particular season, and if you want to write for a major character, a minor character, a moment, a quote or any combination of the above and I'll respond with something.

No minimum max word or image count. No deadlines. You can write for one prompt or for all the prompts. No pressure. This is just for fun.

Example: Season 1
Major Character: Ryan O'Reily
Minor Character: Huseni Mershah
Moment: Alvarez loses his baby
Quote: "God comes to visit me every one in a while, actually he comes more often than I'd like. But he's God. What can I say? That I'm busy, that I'm in the shower... He knows."

What's the best Alvarez/O'Reily season? I know they have like three scenes, but, I'd tackle something with them. (Or AU... it can be AU yes?)

I'd like to write something ... slow-burn-y, so like, ...a work detail together? Welp just gave myself a bunny, I'll show myself out.

Should I leave you a prompt as well?

Was Alvarez still in the infirmary during season 6? Because if that was the case, there could definitely be some work detail time there.

Or a stolen moment as two of the riot leaders in season 1...
Or them yelling across solitary to each other at the beginning of season 2...
Or Miguel taking care of Ryan as an orderly while Ryan was having chemo...
I can't remember if Miguel was on the EmCity Council but those would be good times.

It absolutely can be AU (although I was thinking that could be a good idea for a challenge down the road)

I love prompts. Don't know how many I'll write, but maybe something season 1 after "The Routine" would be nice.

I was just talking with vanillalime about a challenge/fest and I too thought an AU challenge/fest would be great. AU to me means basically anything that isn't canon even if it started in canon, so that gives all the options. Would you prefer being given a prompt, choosing from a group of prompts, or making it up all on your own? I figured we could have a list of AU prompts (locations, meet cutes, situations) for people who like prompts and open season for those who don't need them, but I also had the thought that we could choose 4-5 types of AU as choices for everyone involved... because, I both don't want to limit anyone and also want a bunch of takes on the same AU. Hahaha.

Prompts, okay, so. Even though I'm half-thinking AUs, all I can come up with right now are angsty things like Alvarez's guilt-soaked thoughts about God punishing him, and his son who is dying. How O'Reily and Schibetta Sr. were conspiring to kill Keane, even after Said, Schibetta & Keane told Glynn that they'd make sure there wouldn't be a riot. That O'Reily's only edging in on that action because he wants in with the Italians.

Hm, maybe sth where O'Reily wishes he could be making this deal with the Latinos because hello Alvarez but knows he has to make it with Schibetta Sr. O'Reily's not afraid of Schibetta precisely (esp with that Irish CO in his pocket!) but ...

Okay this is less of a prompt and more of a plotline.

S-E: 1x03, God's Chillin'
Character: Fr Mukada
Moment(s): Any of the several meetings with prisoners that Mukada has during this ep (O'Reily, Groves, Alvarez, more?)
...I'd also like something 'thinky' about Kenny Wangler, in this ep, when he's trying to fit in with the Muslims but eventually goes (back) to the Homeboys. But I don't think Kenny is particularly self-aware or a good 'actor' (he's shit at poker faces for ex) or even a person who has any morals at all so I'm not sure how to frame that... then again, you always amaze me with what you can pull out of characters.

I just had a really interesting idea for a confessional scene. I might need to write it.

I have not written enough Kenny Wangler fic and that probably needs to change. Of course wanting to beat him up for a good portion of the first two seasons might have had something to do with it, so we'll have to see how that works out.

I think I have enough prompts now that I could write for another month or two without having to ask anything.
